I have a handful of regular spots I hit when I go to the beach in Long Beach. They vary depending on time of day and how hungry I am. My go to Pizza place when I’m craving the old school kind of slice I grew up on in Brooklyn and Long Island is Gino’s of Long Beach. I usually go for what I call a “garbage” slice but these days they call the “special” slice. It’s comprised of all three(3) of the Three Holy Trinities of Pizza. Meat-Pepperoni, Sausage and Meatball. Peppers, Onions and Mushroom for the Veggie Trinity all sitting on the Holiest of Holies the base of Dough, Mozzarella and Tomato sauce. Salivating yet?
They of course have your basic slices, a nice Buffalo Chicken slice, Panini’s and Calzones. Across from the pizza counter is one for Italian ices and beverages other then soda. There is a large dining room area in the back and seating outside as well. I usually grab mine to go and eat it(couldn’t help myself…took a bite before I took the pic) while waiting for the Choo Choo)Read: LIRR) back to NYC . Gino”s is a Long Beach institution and home to one of my all time favorite “special” slices. Check it out when in town.
Gino’s of Long Beach is located at 16 West Park Avenue
