Looking for somewhere new to grab lunch in Soho I walked around a bit by some usual spots and came upon Ken & Cook. I took a quick look at the menu, saw plenty to choose from and popped inside. It’s a cool looking spot with a rather well stocked bar, brick walls and wooden floors that looks like it’s been a mainstay for years vs the new spot that it is. Ken & Cook has a nice sized Lunch menu($7-$17) that includes Starters, Burgers, Salads, Panini, and entrees and sides.

I decided on the Sausage Panini($7) with Rapini, smoked Mozz, and Romano that came with a side of fries and ordered a Side of Broccoli Rabe($4), though the Mac n Cheese sounded tempting. The Panini was great, the sausage bursting with flavorful fennel and nice sized for the price, the fries very good as well. I love Broccoli Rabe and this was done just right and a nice sized portion as well to boot. For a cool trendy place in Soho the prices for food of this quality at lunch are some of the best in the neighborhood. The Dinner menu looked great and will require another visit(prices at dinner are more in line with the neighborhood)

As I was leaving I noticed a curtain and took a peek behind it. Before my eyes were B&W photographs of beautiful women on a red painted wall with a staircase going down. Turns out there is a lounge/club space downstairs that will require further investigation as well…

Ken & Cook is located at 19Kenmare Street
