Women and Water are two of my favorite things and I love when the two come together in underwater photography. I stumbled upon Amber’s works while looking up Photography sites on said subjects for some inspiration for my drawings and paintings. Turns out that not only is Amber Arbucci an accomplished Wildlife Photographer (check out her work on the link, especially the Elephant, Gorilla and Whale galleries) but a stunning Model as well.
On display at the W Hotel on West 47th is her latest body of work titled The Girl at Jellyfish Lake, a Self Portraiture shoot she did of herself underwater surrounded by jellyfish! It’s a beautiful set of shots of her and her supporting cast and kudos to her for being so fierce and brave. Most people keep away from one…much less spending hours with a lake full of them.
She showed up for the event looking even more beautiful in person, absolutely ravishing in a red dress. For those who also watch Vikings on the History Channel…she kind of reminded me of a Viking Princess. The crowd was an interesting and eclectic mix and among them were a number of sponsors including the Ladies from the Waterkeeper Alliance that I mingled with. If you’re into photography, especially of women and water below are some pictures from the event…but to do them justice go see them in person.
Amber Arbucci: The Girl At Jellyfish Lake is currently on display at the W Hotel located at 1567 Broadway
